Abraham, 22nd in the world standings with 5 points, has had a rather rough time in the first two races of the post-summer break triple-header, Indianapolis and his home round, Brno, in the Czech Republic.

After highsiding in the opening practice session at the Brickyard, the young Czech suffered multiple contusions of his left foot and shoulder, after crashing in Brno.

“If I took part in the weekend at Silverstone I would be limited by the injury and would lengthen my overall recovery. Therefore, after consultation with doctors, we have decided to skip the race to let the shoulder rest for another week and then I could fully return to training," Abraham told

Team Cardion AB, owned by the Abraham family (just like the Brno circuit) announced there will be no substitution for Karel for the UK GP.
