The last race of the autumn triple header has finally come to an end, with the victory of the reigning world champion Jorge Lorenzo at Motegi in Japan. Tha Mallorcan was followed by Marc Marquez and his Repsol Honda team mate, Dani Pedrosa.
Lorenzo's victory reduces the lead Marquez has to 13 points, which leaves Valencia, the final round of the 2013 season as the decisive race for the current year title.

Dani Pedrosa is out of the race for the title, as he sits 38 points behind Marquez. However, with 25 points down from Lorenzo, he still has a mathematical chance for second, though the scenario si highly unlikely.

The Japanese round saw Rossi running wide in Turn 11 twice nulling his altogether good start and causing him to fall into the 11 position after the second run-off, eventually making it into place 6 at the end of the race.

Alvaro Bautista and Stefan Bradl profited from this and placed 4th and 5th , respectively, while Crutchlow and Smith finished on rather disappointing 7th and 8th positions. Starting form the first row, Nicky Hayden was 9th, followed by Dovizioso closing the top 10.

Already a CRT champion, Aleix Espagaro had to literally jump off his bike as it appear se had either problems with his brakes or throttle, and was approaching at full-speed a corner. He was unscathed, though.

Now it's down to the Gran Premio Generali de la Comunitat Valenciana on November 10 and this final round will decide the 2013 champion. It is the first time since the 2006 season when Valencia ends the battle for the title. Back then it was Nicky Hayden claimed the title from Valentino Rossi.
