Mid-season is always a time of turmoil for the teams and riders whose contracts close to an end as the echoes of the Valencia race fade away. The Pramac Ducati riders Andrea Iannone and Ben Spies can rest assured now, as their contracts with the Borgo Panigale manufacturer are rolling without any problems.
The Italian had a one-year deal with Ducati's satellite team, but with a clause of possible extension for one more season. The deal went on smoothly as Pramac Ducati team manager Francesco Guidotti said.

With Iannone part of the team for the current season and Ducati investing in him to get him taught the ways of MotoGP, it made no sense to let him go after the first period. Iannone is a rookie, and he still has a lot to learn, whereas Ducati has high hopes in him, as well.

As for the American, the already had a two-year contract with Ducati, signed directly with the manufacturer, just like Iannone did. Given his injuries and complications which kept him from riding, we might say the season is only starting for Spies.

Ben Spies declared yesterday he will be back aboard his Ducati at Indianapolis this weekend and that he felt very confident.
