Repsol Honda technicians confirmed that there was a contact between the bike of Marc Marquez and that of Dani Pedrosa, indicated by a severed rear wheel speed sensor cable. Left without traction control, the unaware Pedrosa highsided as he re-opened the throttle through the turn exit, crashing out of the race.

A bit shaken but with no injuries, Pedrosa was very straightforward on the incident. “I was going into the corner. He was over the limit, completely missed the braking, tried to avoid me and at that moment touched me a little bit and went off," he told MotoGP.com.

Pedrosa, Marquez and possibly, some technicians will attend the Sepang hearing, helping the Race Direction decide upon the incident. In case Marquez will be found "guilty" he could start the Sepang race from the back of the grid.

Marquez already has 2 penalty points after failing to slow down through a yellow-flagged session at Silverstone.
