2013 MotoGP: First-Ever Austrian Team Remus Racing Makes Wildcard Appearance at Brno

Awesome achievement for Austria as the first-ever MotoGP team will make its debut as a wildcard appearance in the upcoming bwin Grand Prix eské Republiky round, this weekend.

Martin Bauer will the the MotoGP wildcard entrant for the Remus Racing Team, and he will ride a Suter-BMW non-MSMA (CRT) machine. Having shared the track with the Yamaha Factory bikes in Brno two weeks ago, Martin Bauer stresses that he's pretty happy with the Suter chassis, which has a very good front grip, though there's still some work to for for mid-corner grip.

Bauer adds that this wildcard debut will also produce a huge amount of data for the bike under racing conditions, essential for the future development of the machine.

The personal goal of the Remus Racing rider is to lap under 2 minutes, with anything in the 1.59s-something range considered to be part of a good weekend. However, Bauer is aware that the team is starting from zero and being at the same speed of the slower CRT bikes is somewhat attainable, even though the dream-goal is to even beat some.

And to make things even more interesting Remus Racing will also use suspensions provided by the KTM-owned WP, a MotoGP premiere for them, too.
