2013 MotoGP: Ducati Prepares Rider Trio for Mugello

Fresh from finishing the round at Le Mans in 4th position with Andrea Dovizioso, Ducati seems to be slightly recovering after the rather bad period they've had in pre-season and announces that the factory team will have 3 riders in their home round at Mugello, on June 2.

Dovizioso and Hayden will be joined by test rider Michele Pirro, out on the track for another wildcard appearance, this time back on the GP13 "laboratory bike". In France, Pirro substituted Ben Spies in the Ignite Pramac Ducati machine, as the American rider was not fully recovered after crashing.

With the Mugello circuit quite close to the Ducati headquarters, Pirro says he's ready for the Sunday race as he did extensive testing there. Both Ducati works riders are looking forward to the home race, as they seem to enjoy the Mugello track quite a lot.

“I definitely can’t wait to do the Mugello weekend, as it’s the nicest circuit in the world,” Dovizioso tells motogp.com, while Hayden adds: "Of course we’re extremely excited to go to Mugello. It’s a great race at a great track with a great atmosphere - really one of the best GPs of the year, especially when you’re riding a Ducati! Our bike was built around the circuit, so it works well there; the straight suits the Desmosedici because you come onto it so fast."

While nobody expects a miracle, Ducati hopes the factory riders will be able to produce a result to make their fans proud.
