It's going to be a very important weekend for Ducati Corse,a s one of their factory riders, namely Andrea Dovizioso will be bringing the "evo" Desmosedici to the races for the first time. His team mate Nicky Hayden decided to continue riding the standard prototype.
Ducati was in Misano, Italy, for some recent tests with the new machinery, and Dovi saw several improvements with the new frame. He is willing to give it a ride under racing conditions to verify whether the results of the test are consistent with the way the bike behaves in the "real life".
It's some sort of gamble, we'd say as the Sachsenring circuit is not exactly the best one for Ducati, and Dovizioso openly admitted that the German track is far from being among his favorites, unlike his team mate.
With the German circuit putting a lot of stress on tire life and favoring bikes with solid traction, Ducati is taking a leap of faith with Dovi aboard the new machine. Will his boldness pay off? We'll find out in 4 day's time.
