Still affected by rain, the last day of MotGP tests at Jerez saw Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider Cal Crutchlow lapping the best time of the whole session.
Crutchlow had a fastest lap of 1m39s511, and was followed very closely by Valentino Rossi. Jorge Lorenzo came in 4th with the LCR Honda rider Stefan Bradl between him and his team mate. Marc Marquez was finished the third day at Jerez in the fifth position, followed by Andrea Iannone and the two Ducati works riders, Hayden and Dovizioso.
Honda factory rider Dani Pedrosa ended his test early and said he was happy with his bike as it was. The last test day saw Alvaro Bautista only as a spectator, as his earlier crash prevented him from racing. It's really nice to see the factory Ducati bikes running better and their riders a bit happier and more confident, and the test rider Michele Pirro gathering more and more data aboard the “laboratory bike”.
Compared to the results in 2012, the test at Jerez saw the riders grouped in a 2.9-second margin, almost 1 second tighter. The top ten riders squeezed in 1.1 seconds, a 0.2 seconds improvement over the same figures in 2012.
Now, it's back home for everyone, and make the final tweaks: Qatar is waiting on April 7!
