More than 8,000 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport made for 2013 may have problems with their brake lights, fuel gauges and gear shifters.
The braking problem manifests by intermittent or continuous illumination of the braking lights without pressing the pedal, with the car shifting out of park mode as a side effect. Also, improper brake light illumination can cause crashes because other drivers may not know when the car is slowing down or stoping. 4,539 vehicles manufactured from June 11th through September 11th 2012 may have this issue.

The second issue that may affect 3,724 units refers to them being manufactured without a fuel sending unit, that can cause false fuel level readings. Drivers may think they have a full tank when in fact it could be almost empty. Furthermore, an engine stall could occur while driving, leading to a possible crash. Mitsubishi said that probably only 14 of the total number of recalled cars have this problem.

Mitsubishi has made another recall this year that involved 14,700 i-MiEV models worldwide in February. The vehicles were suspected to suffer from sudden brake failure due to faulty brake system vacuum pump.
