Call it an update, a refresh or a facelift, the word is that the Outlander Sport, which is a small SUV, will get a 2013 model year refresh. The revised car will feature new bumpers, sills and interior changes, all of which will be shown as the 2012 New York International Auto Show, which starts next week.
The Outlander has only been available in the US marketplace for a short time now, but the update is needed to make sure it can stand toe to toe with the 2013 Mazda MX-5.
Rumor has it that the Outlander Sport will get a plug-in hybrid version, just like the new Outlander shown in Geneva. We’re not too keen on that, because it will change the whole attitude of the car.
