2013 Mini John Cooper Works GP Starts at $35,950 in the US

When Sir Alec Issigonis first envisioned the Mini, he definitely did not have anything like what BMW have done with the Mini in mind, yet the car is highly successful, and so much so that they`ve decided to bring the hottest version they have, the John Cooper Works GP to the US, and it’s quite expensive...

According to the official information, the GP starts at $35,950. However, it does have a lot of extra stuff, to at least try to justify the very high price tag. Now, while its 1.6-liter engine develops 218 hp, and 207 lb-ft of torque, which is exactly the same as the non-GP variant, which costs $30,800, it does get fully-adjustable suspension as well as a 121 lb weight reduction, to give it that extra edge.

However, for the price difference between it ant the regular car ($5,150) , we`re sure you could make the car lighter, as well as fit a high-perforamnce fully-adjustable suspension kit, and save some extra cash on the side, as well. However, for those US buyers who want the ultimate Mini, the GP is a very good choice, regardless.
