2013 MINI Countryman All4 Review by Autonet.ca

Seeing as the MINI brand starts making all sorts of crossover variants of the original car, most publications want to see first hand if the cars coming out of the British company's assembly lines are still what the original was. The guys from Autonet.ca are no different.

They took MINIs 4-door Countryman out for a test to see if it will still provide that go-kart feeling, like its Coupe brother. Unfortunately they were somehow disappointed but that's a relative comparison since you cannot expect a longer, wider, taller and heavier car to behave exactly the same as its more agile counterpart.

The Countryman comes with the same 1.6-liter engine and, since this was the All4 S model, it had 181 HP and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque. Fitted with the all-wheel-drive system and an automatic 6-speed gearbox, it was only normal for it to be slower and less agile than the Classic Cooper S.

However, you'll definitely get more space inside the Countryman and you'll be able to carry up to 4 grown adults in comfort. The boot is impressive too, the cargo load adding up to a maximum of 350 liters (190 more than the Cooper One) and, with the seats folded you'll get up to 1,170 liters in there.

Overall, the guys from Autonet thought the Countryman was a bit expensive for what it's offering and called it a "MINI at Maximum price", that being almost its only fault.
