According to a recent report from Car & Driver, the brand new Mercedes Benz GL-Class will make its official debut at the New York Auto Show, which starts early next month. If this is true, than we can expect to see full details from the German automaker within the next week or so, since the New York Auto Show kicks off on April 4th.
We’ve already plenty of spyshots of the car, including one that features the 2013 GL fully undisguised. As you can see, it features the same sort of design elements as the ML it’s based on. And yes, that is the AMG model’s body you are looking at.

The engine range for this seven-seater SUV will be taken from the ML, which means you’ll start off with a 302 hp 3.5-liter V6 in the GL350 and work your way up to either the clean diesel in the form of a 240 hp 3.0-liter lump (GL350 BlueTec), or something a bit more powerful ,the GL550 that will get the 429 hp from its twin-turbocharged 4.6-liter V8. Since this is a G 63 AMG you’re looking at, it should come with the 518 hp version of the 5.5-liter V8 as standard.
