The Geneva Motor Show might take place in Italy, but it’s going to be very Italian this year. Ferrari is bringing the 620 GT, Fiat has the new 500L and a whole bunch of Abarths, while Maserati will debut the new GranTurismo Sport. This replaces the S version, bringing with it a new look and more power. What’s not to like about that?
A quick check of the Maserati website reveals there already is a GranCabrio Sport on sale, revealed just last year at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. This has plenty of cool and aggressive lines, but what if we were to match the new bumper of the coupe as well as the refreshed lights.
Thanks to a rendering by Theofilus Chin, we don’t really have to imagine it. The changes to the look aren’t that great, but we do like the new side grilles that are bigger and the dark tint to the headlights. However, it’s the 10 extra horsepower that interest us the most, and the fact that the Cabrio could be brought very close to the 5-second sprint time to 100 km/h (62mph).
