If you’ve been following autoevolution, than you probably know already that we’re quite interested in the South Korean Maserati as this car has been nicknamed. Well now, Kia has finally started letting us know what the K9 actually looks like, as the replacement for the Opirus nears its full reveal.
While the Koreans aren’t officially calling it the K9, instead opting for the KH codename, it’s immediately evident what we’re dealing with. This flagship will have rear-wheel drive and should arrive on Kia’s domestic market in the first half of 2012.
“Our all-new flagship sedan integrates all of our key capabilities such as design, performance, high-tech features and infotainment into one striking model,“ says Soon-Nam Lee, Kia’s Director of the Overseas Marketing Group.
Although not officially announced for either the US or Europe, the fact that this is a flagship model and that it’s been spotted winter testing in Scandinavia proves they are going to market the K9 globally.
