Mr. Pint thus achieves his 20th victory on the Mountain Course asphalt, and steps on the podium for the 41st time in his career. McGuinness was followed by his team mate and multiple winner in this edition, Michael Dunlop, and Bruce Anstey.

Anstey also managed to set the fastest lap of the race at 131.531 mph (211.633 km/h) and was just under a second faster than James Hillier and his Kawasaki. This year's Senior race was a thrilling one, with minimal gaps between the top 5 riders, and to make it clear what minimal means, differences such as 0.05s were recorded at times (William Dunlop leading Michael Dunlop in lap 1 at Glen Helen). Guy Martin and Michael Rutter were 5th and 6th, respectively.

The race was also postponed for 3 and a half hours because of an incident at Bray Hill: Jonathan Howarth crashed and 10 spectators were injured. The Race organizers have explained a bit what happened: “ACU Events Ltd can confirm that 10 spectators were injured during an incident in the Senior TT Race. The rider Jonathan Howarth sustained a minor fracture. The race was red flagged and emergency services were immediately in attendance at the scene.

The ten spectators and the rider were taken to hospital with injuries ranging from slight to serious but not life threatening. Four of the spectators have been discharged, five of the injured have been kept in hospital and one remains under observation in the emergency department."
