Hyundai has officially announced the Genesis sedan for the 2013 model year. The styling has stayed the same, but the car has lost a couple of engines but gained some tech that should keep buyers interested.
Under-hood, the 2013 Genesis loses the 4.6-liter V8, which develops 385 hp and 324 lb-ft (439 Nm) of torque, as well as the normal version of the 5.0-liter V8. This leaves only the 333 hp 3.8-liter V6 and the R-Spec’s 5.0-liter V8 with 429 hp.
Both these engine will come as standard with Hyundai’s 8-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.
New to the 2013 Genesis is an eight-inch Driver Information System (DIS), which comes with a 64 GB SSD that can store everything you need. The new system is supposed to feature the same joystick controller but features a a more intuitive user interface".
The 2013 Genesis has also been fitted with Hyundai’s Blue Link telematic technology, which allows you to remotely lock/unlock the doors, while also providing SOS Emergency Assistance and better roadside assistance.
