Want an SUV that’s not an SUV? Does your large family require you to buy a minivan that you don’t want? Honda thinks the Crosstour is still the answer. It’s supposed to be smaller than an SUV and better looking than an MPV, but keeping the practicality of both. Is it the people’s Honda that’s just right?
We think it’s strange, as all cars that try to be too many things usually are. But for the 2013 model year they’ve done a bit of improving. This is the new Crosstour, previewed as a concept at the 2012 New York Auto Show.
Sales of the car that’s good at everything and nothing have been sluggish, and Honda is working on changing this. With new bumpers, headlights and wheels, it looks much sportier than ever.
Despite being a concept, the 2013 model year has a revised interior with an 8-inch display on the dashboard, push-button starter button, shift paddles for the V6 version and new materials.
Speaking of engines, this car will come with (as of September 2013) new 2.4-liter i-VTEC with 192 HP and 162 lb-ft (), or a 3.5-liter i-Vtec V6 with 271 hp, mated to a six-speed automatic.
