With customers around the world starting to look for cheaper, less petrol-hungry bikes, here's Honda's new CBR machine getting more official specs and a price.
We really expected the 2013 Honda CBR500R to be cheaper, but who knows, maybe the announced MSRP will eventually go lower than the actual $5,999 (€4,690). The all-new bike is powered by a fuel-injected 500cc parallel-twin unit with 34mm throttle bodies coupled to a 6-speed gearbox with chain final drive.

The bodywork design keeps the 2013 Honda CBR500R in the supersport line, with aggressive styling and a clean, city-approved look. Halogen lights and digital instrumentation are standard, but the ABS is not, draining some more $500 (€390).

The bike comes in black, red and HRC-style color schemes, and we really like it, but once more, on the price tag. For this money and even less, people can get a bigger used bike in absolutely impeccable condition, let alone choose from a heap of small-displacement bikes, if fuel economy is the game.
