Isle of Man officials confirmed the fact that TT legend John McGuinness, 19-times winner on the Mountain Course, will contest in the Lightweight race, June 7.
The new CBR500R has already entered race preparation under the banner ot Phil Morris' RLR team. McGuinness and RR go way back more than a decade ago, winning the same Lightweight races on a Honda VFR400.
McGuinness will try to beat Michael Rutter's fastest lap of 19m35s45 (115.554 mph or 185.926 km/h). What's even more intersting about the Lightweight race is that so far it was dominated by Kawasaki bikes, and things are sure to change this yeas with John McGuinness' entry and his Honda.
As for Honda themselves, few other publicity stunts could ever prove more fuitful than McGuinness taking the podium or the win. Nice move, Honda!
