The smaller sister of the already famous NC700X adventure bike, the 2013 Honda CB500X looks as promising as its sibling. Derived from the new and successful 700X, this bike is one of the 6 new motorcycles Honda showcases these days at the 2012 EICMA in Milan, Italy.
With a market slowly drifting for small-displacement bikes, the 2013 Honda CB500X aims to please the new customers looking for more affordable machines with better mileage.

The 2013 Honda CB500X is developed on the new 500cc platform, with a fuel-injected parallel-twin engine, hopefully sporting the same legendary reliability of dual-purpose Honda bikes (the Transalp 600 and CRF off-road machines).

We're not sure at all how much dirt will get the 2013 Honda CB500X to see, since it's obviously a street-oriented bike, with some light trail capabilities, and the 17” wheels just scream it. However, the 2013 Honda CB500X is better prepared for asphalt than the older bikes, ans we're looking at the ABS, cast lightweight wheels, or adjustable windshield.

Still it comes with a long fork travel meaning it will bounce nicely on rough terrain, but the lower cowl is not convincing us it will fare well on rocky terrain. We're looking forward to see the price tag and will then judge upon the offer.
