Last week, Honda took the wraps off the all-new Accord, which just like the Civic looks very much like the old one. But there have been significant improvements made to the architecture and the economy of the engine.
“The most sculpted and the most dynamic Accord yet” will no doubt also spawn a wagon version, though given the fact that it’s not clear if the American or European divisions will make it, we can’t be sure about the front end styling. This is already the case with the 2012 CR-V crossover, which features different bumpers in Europe.
Aside from the yet unclear styling, the new Accord will be more aerodynamic than the outgoing model, with a very low drag coefficient, flush-mounted windscreen wipers and a streamlined designed underbody.
Engine options for the new Accord Tourer will no doubt include a 2.4-liter direct injection unit with 181 hp, a hybrid 2.0-liter and a plug-in hybrid version.
