The new car comes with a promise of a perfect blend between dynamics and efficiency whilst also keeping its big size intact. For the hybrid part, BMW installed an electric motor in the new SAV that produces 95 HP and gets its energy from a lithium-ion battery stored under the lead area.

This battery will allow the car to travel on purely electric mode for up to 30 km (19 miles) and do a top speed of 120 km/h (75 mph). All that power and efficiency is directed to the wheels by the xDrive intelligent AWD system.

According to BMW, the xDrive system will make sure that no matter what kind of propulsion is used, the power will be sent to the wheel that can use it to maximum efficiency.

The internal combustion unit is a 4-cylinder turbocharged unit with the power output undisclosed yet. However, the car is claimed to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7 seconds, takes less than 3.8 liters of petrol to travel for 100 km (62 mpg) and emits less than 90 grams of CO2/km.
