2013 Ford Escape Shows Focus Looks

Do not adjust your screen! That is not the wrong crossover, even though it looks nothing like the boxy old design. It’s the third generation of Escape coming to market next year, which is actually based on Ford’s Global C platform shared with the new Kuga.
While some American consumers will find it hard to switch to smaller turbocharged engines and FWD, we took a liking to the sculpted front end of the 2013 Edge.

“The Escape’s athletic good looks are no accident. We wanted to create the impression of an athlete like a runner or swimmer in the new body – right down to the defined muscles that convey movement and energy,” said Ford’s design boss, Martin Smith.

The Escape will be sold with three engine choices in the US. The base 2.5-liter offers 168 hp and is only available with front-wheel drive. Next is a 1.6 EcoBoost with 173 and the bigger 2.0 EcoBoost with 237 hp.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
