Triumph officials have confirmed that a 250cc-class parallel twin motorcycle will be built in India in 2014 and will be then sold as a 2015 model in emerging markets.
If we are to believe Bonnefication, the new quarter-liter bike will borrow some styling cues from the likes of the actual Speed Triple (pictured), and will be built at the Narasapur plant.
There is a lot until a 2015 250cc Triumph makes it into production phase and we're tempted to believe that it will be aimed at the Asian and South American markets.
The competition already has a strong foothold in this segment, and Honda, Kawasaki, KTM and some more have 250-300cc bikes which sell very well. Coming up with a new such bike on Western markets could be a rather late move, unless the machine looks smashing and performs brilliantly.
However, in case the bike looks really fine, it would only be a small surprise to see it in Europe and North America, as a sweet and sporty beginner motorcycle, provided the price is right. Times are a'changing, even for a manufacturer like Triumph, and it's time everybody understood the new demands of the markets.
