Right now, all the economy figures for the Dart sedan are company estimates, but Dodge still insists that the car will be the standard in this field when equipped with an optional Aero package.
The standard model equipped with Fiat-sourced 1.4-liter turbo is already capable of doing 39 mpg highway thanks to a shutters in the grille that improve efficiency at speed. However, the optional bit of kit will get you ‘at least’ 41 mpg highway.
“The all-new Dodge Dart is a thoroughly modern vehicle that’s fuel-efficient, beautifully designed and crafted, agile and fun-to-drive,” Dodge said in a statement.
“MultiAir technology delivers optimum combustion at any speed under all driving conditions by allowing direct and dynamic control of air intake and combustion. The result is up to a 15 percent increase in low engine rpm torque and a 7.5 percent improvement in fuel efficiency,” Dodge said.

• The 2013 Dart with a 2.0-liter Tigershark engine mated to the 6-speed manual gets an EPA rating of 25/36 mpg (city/highway) and 29 combined.
• The 1.4-liter MulitAir Turbo engine mated to the 6-speed manual transmission gets an EPA rating of 27/39 mpg and 39 mpg combined.
• Dodge will introduce a Dodge Dart ‘Aero’ model (available 3rd quarter 2012) that will hit at least 41 mpg on the highway.
