2013 Dodge Dart Receives Top Safety Pick+ Rating

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety recently conducted its annual tests on the compact car market and found results varied. However it seems that Chrysler's new Dodge Dart sedan is really safe, even in the small overlap scenario and so it was awarded Top Safety Pick+.

We think that the result can be attributed to the strength of the body and the fact that they've fitted it with 10 standard airbags. As you can see from the video below, the crash dummy is protected very well by airbags from all directions.

“We are very pleased that the Dart has earned a Top Safety Pick+ designation,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO Dodge Brand – Chrysler Group LLC. “In addition to its solid structure – the Dart’s 68-percent high-strength-steel content ratio is one of the highest in the industry – the Dart boasts more than 60 safety and security features. They include 10 standard air bags, which is unsurpassed in the compact car segment.”
