Here's another round-up-type video for the awesome 2013 Dakar Rally, this time coming from Yamaha.
Yamaha' s best performance this year was Olivier Pain, a 6th place in the overall rankings. However, Yamaha had another rider in the top 10 Dakar heroes: Dutch Frans Verhoeven, positioned 9th at the end of the rally.
Another notable presence in the 2013 Dakar was David Casteu, who was unfortunately forced to retire after hititng a cow in stage 9, ending up with a serious shoulder injury and a perforated tank. After receiving some assistance from another Yamaha riders (Vincent Guindani), he managed to reach medical assistance and got his shoulder strapped.
However, it was not the end of bad luck for the French, as his bike stopped working 30 km short of thr second special stage finish line, with retiring from the race being the only option left. Enjoy this video, as it shows just how tough the 2013 Dakar was.
