2013 Corvette 427 Convertible Commercial: Candles

There’s no way of sugar-coating it, the 427 is probably the best convertible Corvette ever from a performance side of things. And while it’s no C1 classic, we also think its body kit and big stripes make it look very much like the sportscar that it is.
The Corvette is 60 years old now, but it’s nice to see they haven’t gone all soft and retro. In the first official video promoting the 427 Convertible, they went for a romantic feel, as the performance drop-top puts out 60 candles in a row arranged by the side of the track. Can you guess what their birthday wish was?

We can, but we’d much rather tell you that the car is powered by a .70-liter engine from the Corvette Z06, it produces 505 hp and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque.

They’ve rummaged through the performance parts bin a lot for this one, and found more carbon fiber than you’d think. This is present in the hood, front splitter, Z06-style fenders, floor panels and rocker panels. The end result is a car that will do 190 miles per hour, and we’re easily impressed by that figure!
