2013 Chevy TrailBlazer Likely Not Coming to US

The brand new Chevrolet TraiBlazer made its official debut at the start of the 2011 Dubai International Motor Show in the Middle East. It shares its brand new body-on-frame architecture with the Chevrolet Colorado pickup.
But while the Colorado is needed in America, the new TrailBlazer probably isn’t. It might have a new 2.8-liter Duramax turbodiesel with variable-geometry turbocharger for an optimal combination of performance and fuel economy under its bonnet, but the fact of the matter is that there’s too much overlap with the Traverse SUV.

"I guess you could look at it as possibly another choice for a customer. It is a different nameplate, it has some heritage to it. But if you provide the customer with too many choices in the same showroom," Luke said, "you start competing with yourself," Jeff Luke, vehicle line executive for General Motors' trucks and crossovers, told Automotive News at the Detroit Auto Show.

As it stands, we’re really not sure what major market this is for!

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
