A base price of $25,996, including the $760 destination charge, has been slapped onto the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu Eco, which will hit dealers in the first quarter of 2012. Thanks to the GM eAssist system, the frugal mid-size sedan will do 26 mph city and an impressive 38 mpg highway.
The power comes from a 2.4-liter Ecotec engine with 182 hp. The on-board electric motor juices a lithium-ion battery through regenerative braking. The powertrains also comprises of a 6-speed automatic transmission with Start Stop functionality.
