At least 5 Brammo Empulse owners will be contacted by the manufacturer quite soon, as their bikes are could experience a short circuit in certain conditions.
According to NHTSA, one of the high current cables in certain bikes manufacturer February 22 and March 29, 2013, was installed improperly, and could cause shorting. Aside from potentially damaging other electrical components of the Empulse bikes, a short circuit could also cause a complete loss of power, which is a major hazard for riders.

The troublesome cable installation problem was detected in a test bike, and after investigating the matter, Brammo confirmed this is a safety concern. If you're at least a bit skilled in mechanics, watching the diagrams below should provide you with enough info to verify your Empulse and mend things yourself.

Brammo dealers will inspect the recalled bikes and replace cable, motor controller and cover assembly in case signs of a short circuit are found. Thsi recall has number 13V208000.
