BMW recently unveiled a brand new diesel engine, a 3.0-liter inline six that has been fitted with three turbos for a grand output of 381 hp and peak torque of 740 Newton metres (546 lb-ft). In the X6 sports activity vehicle, the engine is enough for a 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds, which is only 0.6 seconds slower than the X6 M.
At €85,800, the X6 M50d super diesel is a very attractive proposition, an thanks to our BMW insider sources, we’ve managed to find out what the standard equipment list and the options list will have in store for you when the SAV is introduced to the market.
The M-powered diesel gets hight-adjustable suspension like the X6 M so you don’t scrape you nose in the car parks. Also, the M Servotronic system will adjust steering sharpness depending on the speed. In case you didn’t notice from the press photos, you also have an 8-speed autobox with a gear selector lever that has a big M on it and some sporty seats.
Standard equipment also includes a set of light ally M double spoke 20-inch wheels and washing system for your xenon headlights.
On the options list, you’ll be able to spec the M Driver’s Package that lifts the speed limiter and lets you max the car out all the way to 275 km/h (171 mph). You can also have your dash finished in BMW Individual leather, though that’s not very sporty.
