While the world is currently focusing on the brand new BMW F15 X5, we here at the BMW Power Blog try to keep an eye out for every model you might be interested in so, we decided to bring you a quick review of the E70 X5.
The guys from Autos.ca took a xDrive35i M Sport model out into some really nasty backroads to see just how well it handles itself and they were impressed. Now that the E70 model was taken out of production, you'll only find one as a second hand vehicle but you still might want to know exactly what to expect before buying one.
The car is luxurious, as you might expect, and the engine performs absolutely flawless, even for the over 2 tones of car it's carrying around. Combined with the 8-speed automatic gearbox you'll never feel the need for more power no matter if you're on a highway or a back road.
The car they had, as we said above, had the M Sport package that comes with 20 inch rims and those are definitely not recommended for off-roading. They look and feel great on highways and around town but going on some rough patches of road you'll regret the decision.
Other things you might want to keep an eye out for should be the fact that you don't get a spare tire but run flats and that you might need some getting used to getting in and out of the Sports Activity Vehicle.
Bottom line, depending on the price tag you're gonna find, the 2013 X5 will be quite a good choice for any SUV enthusiast out there, providing everything you need for your family and yourself.
