The LCI 5 Series came out this year as the model turned 4 years old in order to keep up with the new E-Class and A6, its main competitors. Even though the Audi is a brand new model and the E-Class was thoroughly redesigned, the 5er is still at the top of its class.
Most changes came inside the car rather than outside. The exterior received minor updates like new headlights (with standard Xenon lights), new taillights with LED strips and new air curtains in the front bumper.

Engines were also updated alongside the new iDrive system that is now one of the best in the world when it comes to infotainment systems, a great deal away from the original version. It even has a touch sensitive area on top of the controller that helps you use it.

Inside, you'll find plenty of storage spaces (they might not be perfect for all bottle sizes but they do get the job done) and the rear seats offer plenty of room, even for tall people. At high speeds, the cabin is well sound proofed and the ride is comfortable or sporty, if you went for the adaptive dampers.

Bottom line, even though it does have some areas that could use improvements, the LCI 5 Series is still on top of its class, keeping its head above the water in front of the A6 and E-Class. The competition is getting stronger though.
