It's a bit funny to refer to the 2013 BMW C650GT by the name "scooter", mainly because this machine is so much more than what most people usually think about this kind of vehicles. The BMW C650GT is indeed a very serious bike in a maxi-scooter guise, and its performance specs are easily matching those of many similar 2-wheelers touted as bikes.
The 2013 BMW C650GT delivers 60 HP from its 647cc in-line twin engine, and has plenty of torque thanks to the factory tweaking (66 Nm or 49 lb-ft at 6000 rpm). BMW has tuned the engine response to provide the best power deployment with an automatic transmission, retaining all the sporty character of the brand, while making this maxi-scooter easy to operate by pretty much anyone, in the city and by all means, on the highways.

Heavily inspired from its motorcycle siblings, the 2013 BMW C650GT boasts a tubular steel bridge frame with an aluminium swingarm and a generous 40mm fork, providing enhanced rigidity and top-notch road performance. Adding the oil bath roller chain secondary drive in an encapsulated cluster lowers the needed maintenance, much to everybody's convenience.

Finally, since it's a GT, this maxi-scooter offered a wider seat, a taller, electrically adjustable windscreen and raised handlebars, all backed up by a most generous 60-liter (2.1 cubic feet) in the tail section, easily accommodating two helmets or some shopping bags.

While the price is not yet official, most estimations point to the $10-11,000 area (€7,570-8,325).
