For about a year now, BMW has bewildered us with facelifts that aren’t really facelifts for their cars. Officially, they are called Life Cycle Impulses (LCI) and in the case of the X1 and X6 crossovers, about the only things changed were the colors and the foglights.
The next in line to be revealed is this, the 7-Siries facelift arriving as a 2013 model year LCI. BMW needs to keep the car relevant in comparison with the next S-Class which is just around the corner, and to do so they will add a new sound system, additional exclusive colors and updated engines.

According to BMW Blog, the new 7-Series engine range will come into effect this July, and will see the arrival of a couple of new variants, the 750d and 750Ld, both powered by the same tri-turbo 3.0-liter engine we’ve come to know from the M Performance. The innovative unit produces no less than 381 horsepower and 740 Nm (546 lb-ft) of torque.

Also to be upgraded is the most basic diesel on offer with the car, the one in the 730d, which will be boosted by 13 hp to 254 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque (413 lb-ft).

Among the few new exterior features, BMW will introduce three new colors for the body - Havana, Glacier Silver and Midnight Blue. All 7-Series models will also get LED headlights as of July.

In the interior department, BMW has deemed it necessary to introduce a next generation iDrive system, with better designed features and a multi-touch knob.
