It is an impressive machine, fitted with even more impressive engines and array of options. The guys from Car and Driver went for a quick run in the high-end version of the 6er and decided to share the experience.

The 650i xDrive Gran Coupe comes fitted with a revised version of the N63 4.4-liter V8 engine that develops 450 HP and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque. The standard gearbox is the ZF 8-speed automatic and will make you feel you died and went to heaven.

The xDrive system works all the time but you never feel it directly. It just intervenes from time to time to keep you on track in case of unexpected trouble. The steering gives you more feedback than you might expect, especially since BMW decided to use electric powered systems in this regard.

Going inside you'll be stunned by the way this car looks. The finishes are exquisite and the customization possibilities are virtually endless. Some might argue that they are too expensive, but quality never came cheap.

Bottom line, BMW did it again. The 6 Series Gran Coupe is the best car in its segment, hands down, even though its populated by cars like the Audi A7, Porsche Panamera and Aston Martin Rapide, none of which is marginally cheaper.
