A lot of things can influence a standing start. Traction control, how long the brake sticks when you take the foot off the pedal and especially the electronic nannies controlling the notoriously unpredictable electronic nannies. However, there can be no denying the next video is a little controversial.
There are a number of deficits between the Audi S8 and the S63 AMG, from the size of the engine to the power, the power of the badge. You see, Audi has said there's no market for an RS8 so it's sent the S8 into battle with a similar engine to the RS6/7, but with 40 less hp. The S63 AMG, meanwhile, is stronger than ever for 2014, having just received its first ever all-wheel drive system.

We know you guys will tell us there's something off about the jump start of the S8, but that could just be down to the digital instruments fitted to the Merc. Had this race been carried out again, the AMG might have been the victor – that's just how unpredictable these complex machines are. But in the end this is what it is, 15 seconds of Ingolstadt glory!
