If you want a hot hatchback, you’re not exactly wanting for choice these days. From affordable superminis to exotic six-cylinder monsters from BMW, there’s something for everybody. However, there’s only one with quattro all-wheel drive that also offers a relaxed, luxury attitude to life.
Yes, it’s the S3, and there’s a new one on the way, a fact clearly demonstrated by the numerous prototype sightings. But when exactly will we be able to buy the new Audi 3? Pretty soon actually, as the car will debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show, which is going to start at in September.
The news comes not from an official Audi press release, but from a speculative report released by Autocar magazine. They say the S3 will bow together with the new five-door 2013 Audi A3 Sportback.
The new S3 will make use of a turbocharged 2.0-liter TFSI engine pushing out around 280 hp. That’s not a significant increase in power, but at least you can expect economy to be improved, most likely through cylinder deactivation or start/stop.
