The Audi Q7 will always appeal to those people who think big is beautiful, but the Q5 is a different story. To us, it’s a bit like a vacuum cleaner or plasma TV. It’s ergonomic, well engineered and useful, but at the same time sedate, quiet and… lackluster.
For the 2013 model year, the Q5 is getting a facelift to bring it in line with the other Audis just making their way to market.
As a result, the Q5 now comes with the new hexagonal grille, a different set of bars, new headlights and foglishts. There are also technical changes, as the 3.2-liter V6 FSI has been replaced with a more efficient supercharged 3.0-liter TFSI, though it’s been detuned to make room for a sportier version of the crossover in the future.
This is the mystery Audi that will be unveiled next week at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show, and that’s when Audi will bring the full info.
