Audi used the Detroit Auto Show to confirm that the 2013 model year will bring the 3.0T engine for the A8. Don’t let that “T” fool you - we’re not talking about turbocharging here, but about supercharging.
The flagship Audi sedan will receive a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 that delivers 333 hp and a peak torque of 325 lb-ft. The engine, which comes with start/stop technology, will be offered for both the short- and long-wheelbase versions of the A8.
We have to mention that this engine can already been found in a wide variety of VW Group vehicles, from the Audi S4 to the Porsche Cayenne Hybrid. In addition to that, the US-spec A8 also received a 3.0-liter V6 TDI oil burner. However, the automotive producer hasn’t offered the efficiency information for the two units
