2013 Audi A4 Allroad Makes US Debut in Detroit

Audi has finally seen that the demand for the Allroad quattro was there and is bringing it back to the US market for the first time since 2005. The car they’ve chosen to debut via the 2012 Detroit Auto Show is not the bigger jacked-up A6, but the new A4 facelift-based version, arriving as a 2013 model year.

The 2013 A4 Allroad is distinguished from the regular Avant wagon it’s based on through its extra body trim covering the lower section of the bumpers and the wheel arches. Also, the car comes with aluminum-optic roof rails and a different grille.

The soft-roading attributes of the Allroad are also enhanced via a raised ground clearance by 1.5-inches. The powertrain consists of a 2.0-liter turbo with 211 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, mated to a eight-speed automatic gearbox that sends its power to all four wheels via Audi’s quattro system.
