2013 Audi A3 Sedan
The current Audi A3 has been sitting in showrooms since 2003 and the years have not been kind to it. And so a brand new car, originally expected last year, will finally show up at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, most likely as a hatchback first.
But besides the three- and five-door, Sportback and Cabriolet, the A3 range will finally welcome the really compact sedan that customers have been wanting for so long. Now autoevolution has the new A3 sedan rendered for its readers to enjoy and to gouge interest.

The sedan will be a bit like VW’s Jetta, measuring about 4550 mm from bumper to bumper. The main market for this car is of course the US, but steady demand should also come from Europe and also China, where the A3 will be assembled for the Asian market.

The standard A3 will come with a revolutionary new three-cylinder engine, displacing 1.2-liters, running on diesel and producing 75 hp. The ultra-frugal unit will only put out 89 g/km of CO2. We have a sneaking suspicion that the A3 sedan will mainly sell as a FWD car. At the top of the range will sit a sporty S3 model with 300 hp from a 2.0-liter TFSI.
