The patent office has once again become a gateway through which the people can see future automotive creation and this time we are talking about the 2013 Acura RLX. The vehicle’s identity hasn’t gone through a dramatic transformation - it’s lost some of the bold elements of the concept that prefigured it (this was shown at the New York Auto Show), such as the LED headlights, but comes with a fresh aura thanks to a restyled front fascia, side skirts, rear fascia and a few other elements.
The entry-level 2013 Acura RLX will be powered by a 314 hp V6 unit, which will power the front wheels. Climbing higher, we’ll find a model fitted with a Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive System (SH-AWD), which will include a 3.5-liter V6 powerplant, 3 electric motors, as well as a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, with the overall output of the system sitting at over 370 hp.
Our say: we can’t help notice the pretty strong BMW 7-Series resemblance that the rear quarter of the car shows.
