2012 Toyota Yaris to Arrive in the U.S By End of the Year

The next generation of Toyota Yaris will arrive in the U.S market later this calendar year. Although it isn’t a huge surprise that a new Yaris is on the way, the actual arrival date was unknown.Toyota fans are also pretty excited for the later part of 2011 as the redesigned 2012 Toyota Camry will arrive in showrooms with better looks and better fuel-efficiency.

The 2012 Toyota Yaris is already on sale in Japan and Europe. In Europe, the 2012 Yaris is offered with a 1.0-liter VVT-i and 1.33-liter dual VVT-i gasoline units and a 1.4-liter D-4D diesel.In a sales call with dealers on July1, Toyota Motor Sales vice president Don Esmond confirmed that a new version of Toyota Yaris arriving in the U.S. market soon.

“There will be a new Yaris in Toyota dealerships by the end of the year,” said Don Esmond. The new Yaris comes with an optional 6.1-inch touch screen interface, and the instrument cluster has been relocated from the center of the dashboard to directly in front of the driver. The Yaris’ Japanese version of the car, called the Vitz,even gets an optional all-wheel drive system.

Toyota stated that the interior has grown,with more room and supposedly, plsu extra comfortable. Also, the quality has improved, and the styling changes make the new Yaris more mature-looking that the current version. By the end of this year, the new Yaris will face stiff competition from the newlly revised hatchbacks, including the Ford Fiesta, Mazda 2 and the Hyundai Accent. We shall keep an eye on it to see how it will face the competition.
