Long term testing has its disadvantages, but its the only way reviewers can properly rate a vehicle and find out about every aspect of its integration in every day traffic.
And it gets even better if the vehicle is driven by more than two people that share impressions at the end, like the guys over at Edmunds did in their last long-term testing of the Toyota Prius c.

They have tested the Prius c Three model, which cost them $22,701 and it is powered by a 1.5-liter Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine aided by two electric motors, totaling 99 horsepower.

The baby Prius was tested both in city and on the highway. And while it makes a perfect vehicle to roam around the urban jungle, they say that it feels underpowered on the open road. However, no one complained on comfort issues or fuel consumption, which got a 45 mpg (5.2 l/100 km) average over 16,000 miles (25.750 km).
