2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid Becomes NADAguides' Car of the Month

Earlier this week, we told you that the 2012 Camry would hit showrooms across the US this month. Now, it’s time to return to the car, as its Hybrid version (in the XLE trim) has become the NADAguides’ car of the month for September.
NADAguides, a provider of vehicle pricing and information supported by the National Automobile Dealers Association, praised the vehicle for offering customers class-topping upgrades, while coming with a price lower than that of the model it replaces.

The analysts noticed the major increase in consumer interest for the 2011 model year Camry, with the vehicle growing by 67 percent from February to March this year. More importantly, the Camry has been topping US sales statistics for the past nine years.

We’ll remind you that the 012 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE comes with a starting price of $27,400, using a powertrain that comprises a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor, which delivers an overall output of 200 hp. The setup allows the car to complete the 0 to 60 mph sprint in 7.6 seconds and offers an estimated 43 mpg city, 39 mpg highway and 41 mpg combined.

"We're thrilled that just two weeks after publicly introducing the all new, reinvented 2012 Camry, it has already earned NADAguides' Car of the Month award. The new Camry is the most technologically advanced Toyota ever made, and delivers best-in-class connectivity, driving dynamics, safety features, fuel economy and refinement. It's our best Camry ever," Bob Carter, Toyota Division general manager and group vice president, said.
