Taiwan-based scooter manufacturer Sym outs the new maxi scooter MaxSym 400i.
Not quite an imaginative name, but it says pretty much everything in few words. We're going to be looking at a big scooter powered by a 399cc engine with electronic fuel injection. Sym claims this ceramic-coated single-cylinder power unit delivers 35 BHP and 25 ft-lbs (33.9 Nm) and these values are really neat considering it's class.

The SYM MaxSym 400i may be a bit on the heavy side with its 224 kg (494 lbs), but riders say they could so 150 km/h (93.2 mph) with no particular efforts, so it may be just a false impression or laziness.

Another fun part is the triple-disc linked braking system offering enough stopping force to keep both rider and passenger safe and their pulse in the normal range. Wide turns are reportedly as easy as while riding a bike but high speed requires a lot of care.

You also get folding passenger foot rests easy to tuck inside the fairing when riding alone and a generous under seat storage compartment. Riders reported 4l/100 km (58.8 mpg) economy which is kind of ok.
