The two-liter turbocharged flat four now produces 320 hp (+20 hp), while torque is up 18 lb-ft to 318 lb-ft, with the carmaker relying on an updated twin-scroll turbo, a sports muffler and an ECU remap to achieve this.
As for the connection to the tarmac, this is provided bespoke Bilstein front shocks and STI coil springs, with the front wheels also using a flexible tower bar and a flexible draw stiffener. The vehicle was also fitted with a set of 19-inch BBS lightweight rims wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubber.
The vehicle can be recognized by its new front fascia, the removal of the fixed rear wing. Climbing inside, we find new trimming, as well as a pair of Recaro seats.
Subaru will build 200 units of the Impreza WRX STI S206, with the vehicle already being on sale. There’s also another icing for this cake, in the form of a lot of 100 units of the NBR Challenge Package for the S206. This brings a carbon fiber roof and rear wing to celebrate Subaru’s class victory at the Nurburgring 24 Hours endurance event. Don’t bother to ask about the availability, all the 100 units are already sold out.
